This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information, and how you can contact us about privacy matters. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), to the extent they apply to us.

2. What we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

- Identity and contact details: name, email address, phone number, job title, and business name

- Enquiry and engagement information: messages you send us, meeting notes, and information you provide so we can deliver our services

- Billing information: invoice and payment details (we do not store full card numbers on our systems if you pay via a third-party processor)

- Website usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring site, and approximate location derived from IP

- Cookies and similar technologies: see section 8

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities. If you do not provide information we need, we may not be able to respond to you or provide services.

We do not generally collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act). If you voluntarily provide it, we will only use it for the purpose you provided it and with your consent where required.

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information:

- Directly from you (website forms, email, phone, meetings, proposals, and client work)

- From your organisation when it engages us

- Automatically via our website (cookies, logs, and analytics)

- Occasionally from publicly available professional sources (for example LinkedIn) when relevant to a business enquiry

Where reasonable and practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym. That will often not be practicable if you want us to provide consulting services or invoice your organisation.

4. Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

- Respond to enquiries and provide our services

- Prepare proposals, manage engagements, and communicate with you

- Issue invoices and manage accounts

- Improve our website and services

- Send relevant business updates or marketing about our services (you can opt out at any time — see section 7)

- Comply with legal and professional obligations (including record-keeping and insurance)

5. When we share it

We do not sell personal information.

We may disclose personal information to:

- Service providers who help us operate (for example hosting, email, document storage, accounting, analytics, and payment providers), under arrangements that require them to protect the information

- Professional advisers (such as accountants, lawyers, and insurers) where reasonably necessary

- Government authorities, regulators, or courts where required or authorised by law

- A purchaser or successor if we restructure or sell the business (subject to appropriate confidentiality)

If we engage subcontractors on client work, they are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations consistent with our client terms.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia (for example cloud email, document, or analytics providers).

Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it in a way that is consistent with the APPs, or we otherwise comply with APP 8 (for example by using providers under appropriate contractual protections, or where another APP 8 exception applies).

7. Direct marketing

We may use your contact details to tell you about our services where we think they are relevant to your organisation. You can opt out at any time by replying to the message or contacting us using the details in section 12. We will stop marketing to you when you ask.

8. Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used (for example page views and traffic sources).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

If we use third-party analytics tools, those providers may collect usage data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We configure them where practicable to limit unnecessary collection.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No online system is completely secure. Please also take care with information you send us by email.

10. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law, professional standards, or insurance. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.

You may request:

- Access to the personal information we hold about you

- Correction of inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, or misleading information
